Battlefield Street Design Showcase event

Design Showcase: Tuesday 23 July 2019

Thank you to everyone who came along to the final event for the Battlefield Street Design project at Langside Parish Church in Battlefield this Tuesday. It was great to see so many people and your involvement in the project as a whole has helped develop some really exciting design ideas for your neighbourhood. In total 173 people came together from the community to see the concept design. The concept design looked at the following areas; Battlefield Road, Mount Florida corner, Battlefield Rest junction, Grange Road and Langside Road.Below are a few photos from the event and what we got up to.

On-street stall

We had our team on the street in Battlefield outside Coffeescene to show some of the designs of the area, answer questions and also give out some Sustrans freebies. Thanks for dropping by!

Drop-in event at Langside Parish Church

The designs were displayed for all to see, including the feedback we received from the public consultation and the changes that have been made.

You can view the concept designs on the website here – Handover Designs .The design boards which were on display are also available here – event display boards .

Thank you

We’d like to thank all of the representatives from local groups who came to talk about events and activities in the local area which included Give a Dog a Bone, Urban Croft South Seeds and Langside Heritage group. We'd also like to thank our photographer, John Linton who successfully captured the day.

What’s next?

The concept design will now be handed over to Glasgow City Council to progress and create detailed designs for Battlefield over the next year. They are also considering trialing some of the options to assess the benefits and impacts of the designs. The council is currently applying to the Sustrans Places for Everyone funding stream to take this work forward.
